Montecito Peak with Ella!

Ready for another 5-Peaks Challenge summit?
To journey up to the iconic Montecito Peak summit, we will start from Cold Springs Trailhead. We will gradually make our way up through shaded oak groves until we reach steep switchbacks leading to the ridge. As we ascend, we’ll be rewarded with stunning views of Montecito and beyond. The final push to the peak is steep but manageable, and at the top, we’ll take a well-earned break to soak in the 360-degree views before heading back down from the summit push and then completing our loop.

Trailhead: Cold Springs Trailhead
811 E Mountain Dr, Montecito, CA 93108

From Highway 101, take exit 94A (Olive Mill Road) and head towards the mountains. Continue as Olive Mill turns into Hot Springs Road. After two miles, turn left on Mountain Drive and follow it for one mile until you reach Cold Springs Creek, flowing over the road. Park near the creek—look for the Cold Springs Trailhead sign on the right side of the road.
The group will meet at the Cold Springs Trailhead at 8:15 AM to ensure a prompt 8:30 AM start. Please be punctual to respect everyone's time. Please dress appropriately with hiking boots/shoes and comfortable clothes meant to get sweaty and possibly wet. Depending upon trail difficulty, we recommend 2-3L water in a backpack so that your hands are free to cross water or scramble up/down rocks.

Note: Rain or low attendance cancels the hike.
