What we’re about

The goal of the Santa Barbara Data Science Meetup is to gather professionals, academics, and practitioners around problems concerning the acquisition, analysis, and visualization of data---something that has been recently deemed the sexiest job of the century.

This group is meant to complement the excellent Santa Barbara R Users Group, with the goal to extend its audience beyond R users.

Initially, the meetup will follow the steps, and topics, of more established groups with a similar focus, possibly by drawing from the same pool of speakers.

In the lulls between meetups and Kaggle competitions a fresh source of data-related buzz can be found on the newborn DataTau.
