Clementine Carter is an inspirational woman who makes delicious wine and loves the story of wine. She is the owner of a boutique winery in Los Alamos. This event is part of her Words to Live By Speaker Series and will be at the Santa Ynez Chumash Museum and Cultural Center with director, James Bier. The museum is a newly opened, state-of-the-art facility dedicated to sharing the history, culture, and living traditions of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. With over 35 years of experience in the museum field, James has worked across a range of institutions, including cultural museums, art museums, galleries, and fine art fairs and installations, with a strong focus on collections care, exhibition development, and operational leadership.
Since joining the museum project, James has overseen its final construction phases, exhibit installation, and the development of visitor services and educational programs. His work reflects a deep commitment to community engagement, cultural stewardship, and creating welcoming, immersive spaces for learning.
Under his leadership, the museum has become a vibrant resource for both the tribal community and the broader public. James lives locally in Los Alamos and is passionate about building partnerships that celebrate local heritage and history.
