Past, present, future, and always...Tango! A conversation with Pablo Aslan
Details
Pablo Aslan is an Argentine-born bassist and composer.
Pablo Aslan is recognized internationally as one of the leading figures in traditional and contemporary tango. His extensive discography includes Piazzolla in Brooklyn, a jazz-tango tribute to Astor Piazzolla, and Tango Grill. The latter earned him nominations for a Latin Grammy Award (“Best Tango Album”) and a Grammy Award (“Best Latin Jazz Album”)
He is also an educator, a scholar, and a deep thinker that continues to probe the boundaries between jazz and tango, and between music you dance or music you sit and listen too.
We have the pleasure of his visit to Santa Barbara as he continues his task of cataloguing what is one of the most important tango collections in the world. Yes. you heard me right: In The World.
