Join a few volunteers to brush Las Colinas Manzanita Trail at La Purisima State Historic Park in Lompoc Valley. Last month, we brushed the first half mile of the trail. We will return on Saturday to finish the second half. The trail is overgrown, and we will trim the Manzanita bushes to create a standard-width opening.

We will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Mission Hills Community Services parking lot, 1550 Burton Mesa Blvd, Lompoc, CA 93436, and then carpool to the water tanks to start the project.

Please arrive by 8:15 a.m. for a safety talk at 8:30 a.m. before we begin our project. Pack water and snacks for the day. We will work until half past noon.

Trails Council and State Parks will provide loppers for trimming brush. Please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, eye protection, gloves, and dress for the weather.

All participants must sign a Trails Council waiver to participate in this project. All abilities are welcome. We will provide all tools, supplies, and training.

If you have specific questions, please txt Mark Wilkinson at 805-708-6173
