Details
Please volunteer to clear the brush along the Yucca Trail on Wednesday afternoon. The trail is located on the west side of Gaviota State Park.
We will meet at the parking lot for the Northwest entrance to Gaviota State Park (Las Cruces Trailhead). From Highway 1, exit San Julian Rd
Lompoc, CA 93436 (34.507715, -120.227888)
Please arrive by 12:30 p.m. for the tool and safety talk before we begin our project. Also, please pack water and snacks for the day. The State Park's biologist has surveyed the trail for nesting birds and we are good to go.
We will use loppers and power hedgers to trim shrubs along the trails' edges. Please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, long-sleeved shirts, eye protection, gloves, and clothing appropriate for the weather. The forecast is for a partly sunny day with a high of 63F and SE winds shifting to W at 10 to 15 mph.
All participants must sign a Trails Council waiver to participate in this project. All abilities are welcome. We will provide all tools, supplies, and training.
