Please volunteer to brush the Ortega Trail corridor on the west side of Gaviota State Park.

We will meet at the parking lot for the Northwest entrance to Gaviota State Park (Las Cruces Trailhead). From Highway 1, exit San Julian Rd
Lompoc, CA 93436 (34.507715, -120.227888)

Please arrive by 8:45 a.m. for the tool and safety talk before we begin our project. Also, please pack water and snacks for the day. There are no restrooms nearby.

We will use loppers and hedgers to trim shrubs along the trail edges. If you have ever wanted to use a long-handled power hedger, we have a fun project for you. Please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, long-sleeve shirts, eye protection, gloves, and weather-appropriate clothing. The forecast is for a sunny day. The high will be 73F.

All participants must sign a Trails Council waiver to participate in this project. All abilities are welcome. We will provide all tools, supplies, and training.
