Hi Folks - Take a deep dive with me into the beautiful Chianti region in Tuscany. This area used to be a much maligned area for mediocre wines sold in the trademark fiasco straw bottles. But today you can get many wonderful wines. There is a wide range of styles and prices going from the basic, to a Classico, to a Gran Selezione. Sangiovese is the grape variety but blending is allowed with some restrictions.

This is one of the oldest wine areas in Italy with many stories, so grab a bottle and let's learn about Chianti!
You can find Chianti at Trader Joe's, Total Wine and other local wine shops in the area.
Some suggested pairings with the wine are:
Pizza - with a lighter bodied style
Pasta - tomato based with a lighter or medium bodied style
Meat - With a riserva or Gran Selezione - these are heavier in style
Cheese and meats - Parmigiano, Asiago medium bodied style
Zoom link will be sent out before the event.
Hope to see you there!
