Fall Creek Hike (7 miles, 900ft elevation gain)

Please Note: Start time on meetup is 1:45pm. We will start the hike from the meeting place in the San Lorenzo Valley High School parking lot promptly at 2:00pm.

It is mostly shaded. Which is why I have decided to make this an afternoon hike at this time of year to be during the warmest part of the day.

AllTrails Information for this hike is here. Let's hike the High School Trail and Fall Creek Trail at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, enjoy nature, make new friends and enjoy conversation. Please bring water, light snacks if needed, and sun protection (hat and/or sunscreen). Dogs are NOT ALLOWED on the trail we will be taking.

I consider this a challenging hike for this meetup group mainly due to most of our recent hikes being about 4 miles in length and this one is 7 miles long plus 900 feet of elevation gain, I estimate it will take our group roughly 3 hours to complete the hike with a short break for light snacks at the halfway point. It is a beautiful hike though starting in a valley of Redwoods on The High School Trail and then taking a segment of the Ridge Trail to connect to the Fall Creek Trail.

We are not starting from the Fall Creek Trailhead. The parking lot there is small and it is hard to predict whether we can park multiple group cars there. Instead, we will meet in the parking lot of San Lorenzo Valley High School. When entering the high school grounds by car, go left and take the first right and where it dead ends go right again until you get to the pool on your right and the tennis courts on your left and park there. We will meet in that parking lot and head to the High School Trailhead which is behind the Football/Track field which is behind the tennis courts.

If there is interest in getting dinner together after the hike, I recommend the Cowboy Bar & Grill in Felton. Reservations are recommended at this place though. If there is interest, I can make a 5:15pm group dinner reservation in advance. Let me know in the Event Chat comments your interest in joining a group dinner afterwards at this place. I may make a reservation based on Event Chat comments. I can always adjust or cancel it the day of the event when we gather at the start of the hike.
