what to bring:
- your laptop. this is going to be a mini-hackathon style exercise.
- your project ideas
- your enthusiam for vibe coding
What framework should i use?
we use various coding env, like VS code with extensions like Claude code, Codex, Cline... or the desktop app version. any of those are good.
What model should i use?
models change all the time, Anthropic just release opus4.7 which is probably the top contender today, but gpt5.4, grok 4.1 or even z.ai glm5.1 are good options. you can find model ranking for coding here:
https://arena.ai/leaderboard/text/coding
What we can recommend is that you get a subscription to one of those. A ~$20/mo subscription will get you a long way already. Using pay as you go API tokens usually ends up being a lot more expensive (you may spend $20 in an hour of coding) unless you use the cheaper models (like z Ai) but these tend to always be behind on the leaderboard.
if you're not sure, just come watch and see for yourself what people use.
