ABOUT THE SIERRA CLUB:
John Muir co-founded the Sierra Club in 1892 to share his love of nature. Since then, the Club has matured into the nation's largest and most influential environmental organization. The Club’s mission is to explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth; to practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's resources; and to educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the environment.
The Ventana Chapter serves Santa Cruz and Monterey counties of central California and hosts numerous outings, conservation actions, and ways to get involved. The Santa Cruz Group serves Sierra Club members in Santa Cruz County and was originally formed in 1966 as part of the Loma Prieta Chapter. In October 1974, the Santa Cruz Group became part of the Ventana Chapter. Information about the Santa Cruz Group is on our web site at http://ventana.sierraclub.org/santacruz/

OnlineAre you passionate about nature? Looking to meet like-minded people, learn new skills, and make a difference? Come be a part of the Sierra Club - Santa Cruz Group Public Lands Committee!
Our monthly meetings are every third (3rd) Wednesday. You’ll hear from guest speakers, dive into hands-on workshops, enjoy films, and connect with others over shared stories and a shared love for the outdoors. It's also a place where we roll up our sleeves and get involved in challenging, meaningful work and activism that protects our public lands.
Whether you're already a member or thinking of becoming one, this is your chance to grow your knowledge, expand your skills, and develop friendships that last a lifetime. From hiking to public policy, the skills you gain here can enhance every area of your personal and professional life.
Sierra Club Membership and a passion for nature are your tickets in — and we can help you get started!
Let’s build something beautiful together — for our wild places and for ourselves.
