Interesting Ways to Approach Reading Charts

What are some techniques that you use and what are some techniques that other professional astrologers use when they're getting ready and beginning to read charts for other people?

(We always laugh and say one thing not to do is to look at a person's chart and then exclaim a big "oh no," and a sigh.)

I'll share some techniques I've used and we can look at books see what other people have done but also bring your own technique. do you look at the elements first? do you sit back and look at the diagram of the aspects? do you compare your clients chart with your own? do you look gently or sternly at the house placements. do you prepare in advance and if so how much and do what? but what if someone ask you to do a reading spontaneously what's your first go to?
