Web APIs: doing cool stuff in the browser

Web APIs allow you to perform a lot of really useful functions in a very simple, standardized way across mobile and desktop browsers.

We'll take a look at some simple examples you can incorporate into your application/site right away, including things like getting a user's location, enabling desktop notifications, initiating HTTP requests, and storing data in the browser. We'll also touch on some other interesting uses.

Feel free to bring a laptop if you want to work through the examples. Since they're used in the browser, Web APIs are accessed using JavaScript, but the examples are simple enough that experience in any language should be enough to understand them.
