Bios:
Kathryn Ugoretz
Kathryn Ugoretz’s chapbook, The Courtship and Other Tales, was published by Bright Hill Press in 2007. Her poems have appeared in The Madison Review (winner of the Phyllis Smart Young Award), Beloit Poetry Journal, Blue Mesa Review, Bellingham Review, RUNES, Water ~ Stone and others. She received the Barbara Bradley Award, was a semi-finalist for the “Discovery”/The Nation Award, and was a finalist for Palette’s 2023 Resistance & Resilience Prize. She lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico with her son.
Donald Levering
Former NEA Fellow Donald Levering was born in Kansas City and grew up there and in New York. Among his honors are winner of the Carve Poetry Contest, The Robinson Jeffers Tor House Prize, the Literal Latté Award, and the Quest for Peace Prize for rhetoric. His 16th and most recent poetry book, Breaking Down Familiar, placed 1st in the New Mexico Press Women’s Creative Verse Contest. Levering’s poems have appeared in Beloit Poetry Journal, Bloomsbury Review, Columbia, Commonweal, Hiram Poetry Review, Hollins Critic, Hunger Mountain, Poet & Critic, Southern Poetry Review, and Terrain.org. Garrison Keillor has featured Levering’s work in his “Writer’s Almanac” podcast. He lives in Santa Fe, where he co-curates the Poets@HERE Gallery series, and volunteers as a US citizenship tutor and with Kitchen Angels.
