Join Santa Fe Poet Laureate Emeritus Darryl Lorenzo Wellington as he recreates the life and times of Richard Wright, the trailblazing author of Native Son and Black Boy.

In honor of the 58th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s assassination on April 4th and the forthcoming May Day, Santa Fe Poet Laureate Emeritus Darryl Lorenzo Wellington portrays Richard Wright. In this dramatic reenactment, Richard Wright talks about racism, poverty, civil rights, American imperialism, and a visionary post-colonial future — topics important then and now.
