From the Underground to Overground: Clandestine Labs to Artificial Intelligence

Event Details:
An intimate evening with William Leonard Pickard, discussing the inner-workings of a rather interesting lived experience. Here we will explore the history and evolution of major LSD laboratories, offering a rare perspective on the technical and spiritual practices that shaped clandestine synthesis and the extraordinary events that sometimes accompanied this work. The talk will trace the transformation of psychedelic production and research from underground laboratories into medical, scientific, and corporate institutions, before turning toward the emerging role of artificial intelligence and the development of novel substances.

Somewhere between medicine and controversy sits a mushroom.
For decades, psilocybin lived in the shadows. The naturally occurring psychedelic compound, found in certain species of fungi, was better known by its street name: magic mushrooms. The mushroom itself is just the organism that produces it. Revered in ancient ceremonies but outlawed by the federal government, the substance’s healing powers have long been dismissed by much of modern medicine.

The New Mexico Department of Health Medical Psilocybin Program is excited to be able to assist the Medical Psilocybin Advisory Board in their announcement for the launch of the Medical Psilocybin Advisory Board Committees. We are grateful for your interest to provide your knowledge and expertise on the committee(s) which will guide and inform the program in the delivery of services.
Individuals do not need to apply to be on these committees, they only need to attend to participate. People are not limited to being on one committee and are welcome to join as many of the committee meetings as they are interested in attending; however, please note, you must register in advance.
