Bikepack ~8 miles RT to the base of Pedernal. And then scramble to the summit with your overnight bivy gear, water and food.

This ultralight overnight is for experienced and fit folks that will be ready to ride a loaded bike up steep terrain (may have to deal with possible down trees) and then scramble with your gear to the summit of Pedernal. Participants are required to bring a bike lock and a short rope to haul personal gear over exposed class 3 rock climbing section.
Any precipitation 1-2 days prior or the day of this outing cancels the ride due to muddy conditions.

Summit: 9,849’
Raiing: Difficult - due mostly to riding a loaded bike on a steep sometimes rocky and/or unknown terrain conditions. And climbing a section of exposed class 3 rock outcrop.
Required Gear: Sleeping system, warm clothes, water, food, headlamp, personal toiletries, bike helmet, fix a flat tools including a working pump and spare inner tube.

Bike: Mountain, Gravel or E bike. Suggested tire size: 2.0
