We'll hike the entire western side of the historic Winsor trail from the Santa Fe Ski Basin down to Tesuque. This is about 10 miles with 3,600 ft. of elevation loss.
We'll start by catching the bus, the Blue Bus Mountain Route, #255 at the South Capitol Station, shelter 1. That bus leaves at 8am so don't be late, be early since sometimes the bus fills up with bikers.
We'll get to the Ski Basin at 9am and start hiking right away. Although it is primarily downhill, 10 miles makes a long day hike.
A vehicle will be left by the trailhead in Tesuque for the shuttle back to the bus station. A second shuttle trip will likely be needed.

We'll have multiple brief stops on our hike. Bring enough snacks and drink. Our temperatures have been trending warm, and there is a lot of shade along the trail but bring a minimum of 1 1/2 to 2 liters of water. The Tesuque Creek will be close on a lot of the route so a water filter will be available if you run short.
