Invasive Weed Removal on the River Trail Sun Aug 17th, 8am to 10am

Details
Hi friends!
This Sunday will be our fifth weekly weed cleanup along the River Trail near Frenchy's Bridge. I am planning to do this every Sunday for the foreseeable future, and I will post every week. Come for as little or as long as you'd like, and no need to arrive right at 8am.
The progress we've been making is very noticeable, and, there are still quite a few weeds! We'll be removing Kochia and Russian Thistle (aka tumbleweeds) as well as foxtail, goathead, horehound, Siberian elms, Tree of Heaven and more. This is an opportunity to learn how to identify these pesky weeds if you're not familiar with them as well as what to do with them (i.e. do they need to be thrown out or can they be left on the ground? Come and find out!) It's also a chance to learn more about the native plants and how to foster their success. We may also have opportunities to collect seeds from native plants to take home to our own gardens or to scatter them along the river trail.
Please bring your favorite weeding tools, hat. gloves and water, bucket and sunscreen. (I will also have some buckets and tools).
We will meet at the Frenchy's Footbridge and work our way down the trail.
You can park at Frenchy's Field parking lot at 2001 Agua Fria St and walk to the footbridge from there, or you can park on Via Manzana (see pin below). Or ride your bike if you live in the area. Call or text (505)930-2298 if you have any trouble finding us.
Come help us show our wonderful River Trail some love!
