What we’re about
Welcome to Adventure People! This group is for everyone who loves to hike, kayak, rock climb, and anything that gets us outdoors. We have a great team of organizers who schedule local outdoor activities, social events, and weekend camping trips. We also do small group trips to destinations around the world.
Some of the things we've done include watching the Northern Lights in Iceland, hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, rappelling down waterfalls in Costa Rica, trekking on a glacier in Argentina, hiking the W Trek in Chile, climbing a volcano in Hawaii, visiting the country's national parks, exploring the world's most spectacular caves in Vietnam, salsa dancing lessons in Cuba, and that's just a few.
Adventure People all have one thing in common, we want to travel the world and have fun doing it. We're explorers, not tourists. Regardless of where you go and what you do, it's the people you share the experience with that you'll remember the most. What you'll find in Adventure People is that we're a fun, active, adventurous, welcoming group of friends. By joining our community and participating in our local and international trips, you'll not only have a new group of friends but new travel companions with whom you'll want to share more experiences. That's why you'll always see repeat travelers on all of our trips!

Bishop Peak: Boulder Climbing, Exploring, Hiking, Winter Solstice Sunset
Bishop Peak & Felsman Loop Trailhead Patricia Street Entrance, 787 Patricia Dr, San Luis Obispo, CA, USBishop Peak has remained my favorite spot in San Luis Obispo for some fun boulder climbing and consistent great panoramic views of SLO and the surrounding areas, especially at sunset. The hiking trail itself is relatively narrow and steep, with some boulders, making it less mundane and more exciting to hike. The forested area in the lower section with boulder outcrops is very scenic. Frequently there are other hikers along the trail going up and down, and quite often I had encountered other hikers and climbers that brought meaningful conversations on top of the boulders.
For this trip, I also want to explore more areas for free climbing that are exciting yet very safe with no cumbersome safety gears. There will be lots of bushy traverse, including encountering poison oaks. This is super fun and exciting for me, but for sure not for most people. I plan to enjoy a meal and watch the sun setting on a prominent boulder with 360 panoramic views, and descending with headlamp.
To join, you must have effective safety acumen and adequate boulder climbing skills, penalty for mistakes and negligence is serious injuries or permanent comatose.
If you are also enjoying boulder climbing, passionate about exploring in beautiful nature, committed to health, fitness & agility, and meet the quality below by self assessment, you are welcome to submit your intent to join. 🙂
