Alpine White Mountain Peak, Ancient Bristlecone Forest, Astronomy Night Views

Details

White Mountain Peak at 14,250’ elevation, is the third highest peak in California. Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest is the natural habitat for some of the longest living things on earth, living up to 5000 years. As a person that is passionate about the beauty of nature, hiking and exploring, these 2 distinctive places are a must check out in California for me.

This will be a multiday backpacking, hiking and exploring trip for up to a week, about 2-3 days exploring the bristlecone pine forest and hiking trails there, another 2-3 days hiking & exploring White Mountain Peak, Mt Barcroft, etc; visiting Barcroft Field Research Station.

This wilderness area is far away from city light pollution, at higher elevation and with a thinner atmosphere. I expect the night sky to be super clear for astronomy and stargazing, with millions of visible twinkling stars in the Milky Way Galaxy. And many stunning sunrises and sunsets.

Fellow hikers & explorers that meet the criteria below by self assessment 🙂 for experience, skill, ability, personality, character, and mindset, are welcomed to join.
