Perigee Full Moon & Sunset Hike: Santa Barbara Rock Garden & Maze
Details
Wednesday, Nov 5, the moon will be closest to the earth, giving a larger appearance. However, the current weather forecast is partly cloudy in Santa Barbara. By hiking to 3700’ altitude at the Rock Garden & Maze, a beautiful boulder field on the Santa Ynez Mountains, there is a high possibility to avoid the marine layer and cloudy conditions, for some stunning sun setting and moonrise views. Along with Arlington & Cathedral Peaks, the Rock Garden & Maze are my favorite hiking and boulder climbing locations in Santa Barbara. These are some of the most scenic places anywhere for hiking and boulder climbing, with great views overseeing the Pacific Ocean, Channel Islands, Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito, Summerland, and Carpinteria.
