Grass Mountain & Zaca Peak Spring Wildflowers & Wilderness Exploring
Details
Grass Mountain is one of the most scenic and amazing places to see vibrant spring wild flowers, especially during super blooms: California poppy, lupin, mustard, morning glory, wild hyacinth, shooting star, etc. I have hiked Grass Mountain many times, including hot summer days. And I have hiked to Zaca Peak once by off trail bush traverse in October 2025, but not for spring wild flowers.
This is going to be an adventurous and relatively challenging hike, with scrambling, up to 45 degree steep incline and decline, wild, pristine, and lots of bush & wilderness traverse. All these are exciting and fun to me. :)
Below are a few photos from my Spring 2025 Hike.
Going up via Grass Mountain Trail, then bush traverse to Zaca Peak Trail; descend via wilderness traverse through Coulter Pine Ridge, then High Country Trail, and Maple Canyon Trail.
