Point Sal Ridge & Paradise Beach: Hike, Explore, Fish & Sashimi
Details
Point Sal Ridge & Paradise Beach is relatively pristine and scenic. This area is northwest of Pt Sal Beach. The trail has some steep rolling hills, with slope up to 40%. The off trail sand dune leading to and back from Paradise Beach is also relatively steep, for every 2 steps going up, it feels like 1 step sinking back. The hike is a fun challenge and adventure, with great workout in beautiful nature. This area should be green with some early wild flowers blooming.
At Paradise Beach, I would explore and fish for sashimi. Common surfperch species there include barred, redtail, walleye, rainbow and black. Other less common species include halibut, jacksmelt, shovelnose guitarfish, leopard shark, and bat ray.
Photos are from previous exploring adventures, video clips of sand dune traverse are from Surf Beach. Paradise Beach sand dune traverse is relatively easier.
