El aumento vertiginoso del costo de la vivienda es la principal preocupación que pesa en la mente de la mayoría de las personas en Sarasota. The Democratic Party of Sarasota County invites you to the 'HOUSING CRISIS' TOWN HALL at Fogartyville Community Center, 525 Kumquat Court on TUESDAY JUNE 7th at 6:30 pm.

This TOWN HALL will focus on ways out of this housing crisis — it’s time to listen, time to talk about solutions in a coherent fashion, and it's TIME TO GET ORGANIZED!

The skyrocketing cost of housing is the number one concern on the minds of most people in Sarasota. Demand from newcomers is unprecedented, investment funds are gobbling up properties, and homes are changing hands at a breakneck pace, driving locals off the market. Also, homeowners insurance costs continue to rise rapidly and mortgage rates are now going up. As a result, rents in Sarasota County increased an incredible 47% on average in 2021. All of this makes life miserable for local working families and retirees already here, pushing them out of Sarasota County. The response has been timid and piecemeal so far. The Sarasota County Democratic Party invites you to a town hall that will focus on ways out of this housing crisis: it's time to listen, it's time to talk about solutions consistently, and it's time to get organized.
