Why is the word “Republican” attached to the name of this group?
Indie Republic(an) is not named after the GOP nor do we recognize the Party's exclusive usage of that word.
The name of our group—Indie REPUBLICAN—is taken from Article IV Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution and a nod to our republic's Greco-Roman origins and founding principle of Separation of Powers.

We emphasize a DIY ethos, culture of self-development, creative collaboration and localism as the most effective and personally fulfilling vehicle of reiterating America's founding freedoms and overcoming the trends of totalitarianism in the 21st century.
We believe the best solutions are found outside of election cycles as the present political crisis was originated in cultural (and some would add metaphysical) spaces.
Consequently, Indie R does not endorse any parties or candidates as a group, deferring those form of activism to the individual.
We help our audience put a torch to straw man arguments for statism. Rebuke the emotional blackmail of identity politics. Question the nature and morality of power. Argue clearly for individual liberty.
What (SIR) Does:
- Establish an alternate social and professional networking for independent-minded liberty lovers who don't subscribe to the authority of Big Parties and other label-centric affiliations.
- Promote a DIY and solutions-oriented culture in local and regional politics
- Increase civics literacy and participation
