Since ancient times believers have debated the fate of virtuous unbelievers after death. Here Dante poetically portrays his own view of this issue.

While I read this, I will also read other views on this topic, including his chapter on the fate of unbaptized infants and whether his defence of the view that being a heretic is worse than being a complete pagan. I will post links to these texts in the comments.
