Modern Messaging with RabbitMQ

Details

January's topic will be "Modern Messaging with RabbitMQ" presented by Vladimir Vivien, Senior Consultant of Pivotal, Inc.

Meeting overview:

If you have built message-based software systems in Java over the years, your choices where most likely limited to "JMS" broker. While JMS is the workhorse in numerous enterprises, it has several shortcomings that make it less than ideal for the emerging polyglot and agile technological ecosystems. This presentation is to provide a high-level introductory view of modern messaging using RabbitMQ, an open source messaging platform. We will look at RabbitMQ, its underlying protocol AMQP, and how to build scalable messaging infrastructure using Java + RabbitMQ.
