Northeast Swale/Crocus Pairie Hike

Details
Join me for a short, easy hike at the Northeast Swale and Crocus Prairie on Saturday May 24th, total estimated distance of about 7 kms. Check out the Meewasin website for a description and map of the North East Swale (Northeast Swale), Crocus Prairie is a short stroll down to and along the river, with a chance that the crocuses will still be in bloom.
Please note that part of our hike will be along the road (Fedoruk Drive) to get from the recreational area to the ecological zone trail which is mown and has several archeaological markers and great views from the top of low hills. We'll return to our cars on a gravel road (Agra Road) on the north side of the recreational zone and go through a gate to join the north side of the recreational trail back to the parking lot.
We'll meet in the parking lot at the trailhead for Crocus Prairie, north of the Regional Psych Centre, just past Somers Road. Space is limited so you may need to park on nearby streets and walk over the to the parking lot to meet up.
The area is wide open so use sunscreen and wear a sunhat. Bring water and snacks. There are likely to be ticks so wear light colours, long sleeves and pants and bring bug spray for ticks.
If you have not paid your annual meetup fee, please e-transfer $10 to eneudorf@hotmail.com
