This is an all-day event, from 8am to 8pm. We will drive 2 hours to Saskatchewan Landing (30 minutes north of Swift Current), hike all day, and then return home. If time permits, we will stop for some food on the way home.

This will be an intermediate/difficult event, depending on your hiking skill/fitness level. Because of this factor I'm limiting the attendance to 12 hikers. There will be elevation gains of around 500m during the day, and we plan on hiking between 14 and 17kms. You will need appropriate hiking boots/shoes, as well as trekking poles.

Temperatures should be between 8 and 20C. Dress accordingly: cool in the warm/long sleeve in the morning, and cool/short sleeve in the afternoon. Bring lots of water: 2 litres + 1 litre for the way home. Bring a snack as well as a robust lunch to keep you energized for the day.

Meet @ the new Tim Hortons on 11th Street and Dawes Ave (just off Circle Drive, on the west side). We will carpool from there.

If this is your first event of '25: please e-transfer annual meetup fee of $10 to eneudorf@hotmail.com

Here's more information about the park, from the Sask. tourism website: "Straddling the South Saskatchewan River Valley at the west end of Lake Diefenbaker, the Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park celebrates the site of the first historic crossing on the South Saskatchewan River. A great area to be enjoyed by all ages, the park is popular for its fishing, sun-bathing and hiking opportunities. This park features a number of interpretive trails and historic sites including the handsome Goodwin House. The boat launch is located on the north side of the lake while the main beach area, located on the west side of the park, is a perfect place to enjoy a warm summer's day."
