Nordic Ski @ Holiday Park
Details
Please read event details before signing up.
This is an event for beginners*.
Hopefully there'll be enough snow on the ground to make this a good first ski event of the year. If we're lucky there'll be snow even before December 20th!
Holiday Park Golf Course has roughly 10km of trails, so we will try to cover 7-10 kms, which will take us roughly 2 hours. There's an easy loop and an intermediate loop. We'll do the easy loop first, and then those that want to can try the intermediate loop. The rest can keep looping around the easy tracks.
As the date nears I will give more instructions re: how to dress. Suffice it to say it'll be cold so be prepared.
*Those that have never cross-country (nordic) skied before should YouTube it and watch some videos on "how to". I can give some very basic instructions on the day of the event but I'm not an expert.
If you do not have skis, the best place to rent them is Eb's Adventures (near Idylwyld and 38th), but you will need to book them roughly 2 weeks in advance. Another place is Escape Sports on 19th Avenue, between Ave B and idylwyld. Cost of rental is roughly $30.
After the ski we'll go and warm up over a coffee at the newest coffeehouse in the city, The Colombian, right beside Las Palapas Restaurant on Victoria Street.
If you haven't paid annual $10 meetup fee please transfer to eneudorf@hotmail.com
As always, if you have any questions please reach out.
