Douglas Provincial Park - Wolf Willow Trail

Thanksgiving weekend hike at Wolf Willow Trail in Douglas Provincial Park, about an hour and a half southeast of Saskatoon.

The far loop of Wolf Willow Trail is about 12 kms in total on mostly flat terrain. The Trans Canada Trail portion runs from the boat launch near the shoreline through rolling hills, aspen bluffs and grassland. At the end of the Trans Canada Trail there is a short section that goes to the Qu'Appelle Dam. We will return on the Wolf Willow Trail that passes through similar rolling terrain but with more forested areas farther away from the lake. There will be lots of opportunity to see wildlife, especially beaver. The fall colours of the plants and grasses are also beautiful at this time of year.

Entry to the provincial park is $11/vehicle for day use, or free to seniors (65 years old in 2026). You will also need to pay for gas to your driver, and the $10 annual fee to the meetup group (payable to enudorf@hotmmail.com) if you have not already paid.

We will meet at 9 a.m. at Tim Hortons in Stonebridge (3134 Clarence Avenue) to organize carpooling. We should be back in Saskatoon at or before 5 p.m., depending on how much we want to beachcomb along Lake Diefenbaker on the way back.

Bring water as well as lunch and snacks.
