What we’re about
Sass is more than just an online Medium publication. It’s a community that centers BIPOC women and femme experiences with writers and readers from a wide range of backgrounds, who identify as straight, queer, non-binary, and gender expansive. We are a community of writers who seek to use our voice and art to challenge the status quo through artistic expression.
Sass exists as a studio space, a writers’ room type publication for those who are still trying to find their way in their writing and are looking for a place to begin, and find an encouraging and inspiring community. Sass also welcomes seasoned writers, who have found their way, their voice and their body in their writing. Sass is a space for them to expand and deepen their voice, to find inspiration, and to share the resonance of their craft with those who are still searching.
This space is for all of us and everyone in between to write our way through, out, around, and into our own voices and bodies. This space is for us to write our way through, out, around, and into our own voices and bodies.
Join us for regular in-person and virtual events to gather around our shared commitments to use our art, voice and writing as activism.
