CAMPING AND KAYAKING AT CROOKED RIVER STATE PARK

Details
We haven't been to this beautiful State Park in awhile. It has lovely campsites that are surrounded by Spanish moss-draped oaks. Also, if you're not into camping, there are cottages near the river. A nature trail winds through maritime forest and salt marsh, and hikers may see all sorts of wildlife. The Park also has a nature center with fish, snakes, turtles and other animals native to this part of Georgia. Finally, you can also venture to the nearby ruins of the tabby "McIntosh Sugar Works" mill, built around 1825.
We will be organizing two kayak trips, for experienced paddlers only.
BYOK (bring your own Kayak) Sorry we do not have loaners.
Our group will have a gathering around the campfire both Friday and Saturday nights (weather permitting). A great way to make new friends!
please book your own campsite at:
www.gastateparks.org/CrookedRiver
Each campsite fits 2 tents (or 1 trailer and 1 tent) and 2 cars, so feel free to share with someone. You will need to bring your own Tent (or Trailer), firewood if you have it, your food, and all of your camping equipment.
NOTE: This trip is also being announced in the "Lowcountry Adventures" group. Please only RSVP in one group or another, not both.
See you at Crooked River!
