SBCA Happy Hour Talk: Austin Wildlife Rescue, Jules Maron

Details

Come listen to Jules Maron, the Executive Director of Austin Wildlife Rescue. Her organization cares for care for over 10,000 wild animals,
encompassing over 300 species, including many aquatic animals such as turtles, herons, beavers, and other water-dependent wildlife. These
animals are especially vulnerable to the destruction of riparian areas.
Human-caused changes to their habitat lead to injured or displaced animals coming into their care. AWR rehabilitates these animals, along with other native species, and they work to educate the public on the importance of co-existing with our wildlife and show the public ways to limit human-caused issues that lead to wildlife injuries from habitat destruction to runoff pollution.

Jules Maron left a 15 year career as a financial and accounting professional at IBM, to work on the environmental and conservation side of things for a few years at a wildlife rehabilitation facility. She found it incredibly gratifying, and was instantly hooked! After seven years as Austin Wildlife Rescue’s Operation Manager, she became their Executive Director in 2024.

Come anywhere from 6:30 pm to 7 pm to get your food ordered and drinks purchased, and to socialize.

This talk will take place at La Madeleine's restaurant located on Brodie Lane close to the 290 intersection. We will be meeting in a corner sectioned off for us, and we will start the program at 7 pm and after the presentation there will be a time for questions. We will wrap up around 8 pm, but feel free to linger.
