Save Texas Streams Talk: Engineering creeks to limit damaging flooding

Come listen to John Middleton, retired Supervising Engineer at Austin Watershed Protection. He will be speaking on techniques used in Austin for flood mitigation and then will go over past flood events in four of Austin's watersheds and some of the flood mitigation projects that the City implemented.
Prior to working in Austin Watershed Protection, he worked in the private sector doing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain mapping, and designing water quality controls. He is currently a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, a Certified Floodplain Manager in Texas, and has an Envision Sustainability Professional certification.
Come anywhere from 6:30 pm to 7 pm to get your food ordered and drinks purchased, and to socialize.
This talk will take place at La Madeleine's restaurant located on Brodie Lane close to the 290 intersection. We will be meeting in a corner sectioned off for us, and we will start the program at 7 pm and after the presentation there will be a time for questions. We will wrap up around 8 pm, but feel free to linger.
