SRC Sunday 10k – Classic Gogs & Babraham Campus Loop
Details
Following our independent training block, the Sawston Running Collective (SRC) is back at the pavilion! If you are looking for a reliable, friendly weekend group to log some steady distance miles around South Cambridgeshire, come and join the pack.
We are returning to our classic, tried-and-tested signature route—using a fantastic mix of public village footpaths, smooth campus cycleways, and a steady climb up the Gogs to test the legs.
To ensure we train safely and look after our joints, we stick to our strict, permanent session timeline:
- 08:00 AM | The Warm-up: A gentle 15-minute jog around the Lynton Way playing fields to wake up the muscles and gather the group.
- 08:15 AM | The Main Event: Our classic 10k (approx. 6.2 miles) loop heading out via the public byway through Babraham Pocket Park, over the River Granta, past the Research Campus, and up the scenic Gog Magog Hill.
- The Finish | The Cool-down: A 15-minute gentle jog baked right into the final stretch of our route to return safely to the park with our heart rates lowered.
Please ensure you are fully comfortable being on your feet for roughly 1.5 hours in total (08:00 AM – 09:30 AM) to comfortably cover the 10k distance baseline.
The Pace: Completely social and conversational. We match the pace of the group so that no runner is left behind.
