Whether you’re starting a business or you’re looking to put your existing business on the path to success, a business plan provides the blueprint you’ll need to achieve your goals. On October 11th, join Small Business BC, and our partners at FortisBC, for an informative and collaborative meetup designed to walk you through the business planning process and answer your burning questions.
Taking place at the Small Business BC office, this invaluable session will be moderated by SBBC’s Client Service Manager and Business Owner, Yvonne Bayer-Cheung. Joining her as our esteemed panelists will be Dylan Young, Business Planning and Strategy Advisor, Sarah Edmilao from All Access Adventures as well as David and Melissa Cartner from Dave and Mel's Pizzeria (who will also be catering this event) as a part of our panel this year! A bit more about our panelists before we cover the topics of discussion:
- Yvonne Bayer-Cheung (Moderator): Yvonne Bayer-Cheung is the Client Services Manager at Small Business BC. A passionate entrepreneur, business strategist and advisor, Yvonne has a diverse range of experience in management and leadership, marketing, operations and financial lending. She was most recently a Business Advisor at the Women's Enterprise Centre of Manitoba (WECM), contributing to their community for three years.
- Dylan Young: Dylan is a Business Planning Advisor and Strategy Coach, helping entrepreneurs launch and grow successful ventures from the ground up. From technology to social enterprise, he aligns purpose with profit adding creative strategy and practical advice through all stages of the business journey. An intrapreneur for SBBC’s special programs, he has led initiatives to strengthen BC’s business community like the BC Business Covid Support Service and BC Marketplace.
- Sarah Edmilao: Sarah (she/her/hers) is a proud member of the LGBTQ + BIPOC community and born and raised in BC. Sarah has been a boardsports enthusiast since she was 13 years old. Sarah lives to ride, climb, skate and travel to explore new surf spots, backcountry huts and resorts to shred. Sarah founded All Access to help everyone and anyone access the backcountry or oceans safely and with quality adventure equipment. Sarah is immensely passionate about making board-sports both accessible and affordable in Vancouver.
- Dave Cartner: Dave Cartner is a red seal chef with over 35 years experience in working in restaurants and hotels across Canada. Most notably, Dave has worked at the Hot Stove Club, Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Bin 941 in Vancouver as well as Laurel Point Inn on Vancouver Island.
- Melissa Cartner: Melissa Cartner has been in the financial industry for over 25 years in both US and Canadian banking. Her experience includes business transformation and process improvement using lean & six sigma methodologies.
