Armored Armistice

I'm Brian Towey and I live west of Chapel Hill. Some of you I just met at Festival of Legends or The Viking Experience. We may have our rivalries, but I'm going to "chance the arm" and throw a Backyard BBQ for any and all armored fighting groups!
Be it SCA or HEMA or Buhurt or Adria or EMP or whatever: As far as I'm concerned, if you strap on harness and trade licks you're a comrade in arms. It matters little whether you spar with rattan or bokken or rebated steel. They all have their pros and cons.
Our umbrella organizations--and more importantly their insurance companies-- won't let us scrimmage together. But we can and should party together.
Please come over to my house and spend a merry evening bragging and swapping tips and telling no-bull-there-I-was stories.

• Casual attire - no garb needed.
• I'll man the grills.
• You bring drinks, sides, or desserts.
• Your non-combatant pals are welcome too, of course.
• If you are on a restricted diet, make sure to bring something you can eat.
• Please pass the word among your various groups.
• Encourage them to RSVP so we have enough BBQ for everyone.
• We can throw some axes and shoot some arrows.
