Patrick R. Nicolas, "Scala for Machine Learning"
Details
Title:
Scala for Machine Learning
Abstract:
What makes Scala particularly suitable to implement machine learning techniques?
The presentation introduces some of the features of Scala critical in building scientific and data mining applications:
- Implementation of mathematical abstractions (monadic kernels..)
- Dynamic instantiation of data transformations and workflows (dependency injection)
- Scalable execution (streaming, data flow control)
Note: Knowledge machine learning is not a pre-requisite to understand the concepts in the presentation
