let's meet for the first time this year and start with a fundamental concept in Scala: Type Classes.

In this talk I will investigate the type class pattern with a simple
example implemented in Scala and Haskell. This allows us to discuss the
benefit of type classes as well as the implementation differences in
these two languages.
