Community Unconference @ ScalaDays Berlin

Hello Scala Fans!

To everyone attending Scala Days Berlin 2018, we like to invite you to our community unconference event hosted at Zalando. This event is all about you.

We would like to give you the opportunity to present anything you think is interesting to the Scala community. If you do not have a talk prepared in advance, it does not matter, in fact the unconference format welcomes on-the-spot ideas.

If you have never been at an unconference before, here is a quick introduction to it. The unconference format is based on Open Space Technology (OST) which has four principles and one law.

The four principles:

• Whoever comes is the right people.

• Whatever happens is the only thing that could have.

• Whenever it starts is the right time.

• When it's over, it's over.

The One Law: The Law of Two Feet

If during the course of the gathering, any person finds themselves in a situation where they are neither learning nor contributing, they must use their two feet and go to some more productive place.

In practice this means that if you find yourself in a discussion group that you are not interested in and don't feel like you can contribute anything to, get up and use your two feets to go someplace else. There will be many smaller groups of people discussing things so you can join and leave depending on how comfortable you are.

Don't worry if it appears unusual, you will see that it really is very simple :-)

As such, the only schedule there is is the one set by the time constraint of having to sign-in at Scala Days:

15:30 Go to the Scala Days sign-in

Drinks and food will be sponsored by Zalando Tech. Don't forget to bring a valid ID to get access to the Zalando office.

The event will co-located with the Scala Spree, so you can freely nice between events.
