Getting started with Scala (and GCP) as a small, product startup

Details
Speaking will be Daniel Langkilde, co-founder of Annotell. Annotell started in Jan 2018 and decided to go with Scala for their main backend code. Key reasons for this choice was the Akka and Spark libraries, as well as the fact that Scala encourages functional programming. The talk will describe some key challenges when getting started, such as choice of build tools and automation. We will also cover some challenges that have come up with designing and implementing our APIs. The talk will be an opportunity for others to share experiences getting started, and for more experienced Scala devs to give input on how to address some of the problems that come up.
The talk will be held at the MobilityXlab at Lindholmspiren 2 (meetup.com only displays address correctly if Zenuity is chosen, but it is in the same building). There will be some light food and drinks available.
Door will be open at 18:00. We will have food for about 30 mins and the presentation will start at 18:30.
