Functional Programming Study Group

This will be the first meeting of our study group as discussed at the last monthly meet up. One result of our little survey was that most people would like to read Chiusano/Bjarnason: Functional Programming in Scala, Manning 2014 (est.) (http://www.manning.com/bjarnason/). So this is what we will do.

What to expect: We will meet and discuss a text about functional programming. If there are code examples or exercises we will try to do some of them as well.

What to prepare: Please read the first two chapters of the book (“What is functional programming?” and “Getting started with functional programming in Scala”).

If that looks like a lot to read don’t worry: the first chapter is very short and the second contains a Scala introduction you might be able to skip depending on your proficiency in Scala.
