Everybody knows the struggle of dealing with errors and failures in their applications without drastically increasing the complexity of the code. When you have the feeling that throwing around with Exceptions is somehow wrong, you can be glad, Scala gives us better solutions than that.

About the authors:
Daniel Pfeiffer is a Software Engineer at Firstbird building a SaaS employee referral tool, turning your network into a recruiting engine. He studied Business Informatics at the Vienna University of Technology and has built software professionally for banking, human resources and the public sector.
Barnabás is an R&D Engineer at Transpaygo GmbH where he works on reducing credit card fraud. He has been there for 1.5 years. Before that, he used Scala for prototyping domain specific languages and tools as a PhD student and researcher at the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Budapest, where he has also done most of his university courses, with an emphasis on compiler construction and theoretical computer science.
