RC Harrison Water Treatment Plant is one of the hidden gems in Scarborough. The facility is closed to the public, but you can visit the exteriors. So, let's explore this bit of Scarborough.
Meeting Location: Front entrance at the street. There is street parking.
Level: Beginner. Slow-Medium Paced.
Waking Route: RC Harrison Water Treatment Plant > Balmy Beach > Kew Gardens. This is part of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail.
Distance and Duration: We will spend about 30 minutes in the RC Harrison Water Treatment Plant to explore it. Afterward, it is another one-hour and 15-minute walk going to Kew Gardens and coming back to the street parking. We will cover a distance of about 5-6 Km.
Dress according to the weather, and note that we will be walking along the lake, so it will be colder. Keep an extra layer with you.
Bring water to keep hydrated.
