Indie darling Jim Jarmusch had a big hit at Venice, and it's now here in the Windy City.

Winner of the Golden Lion Best Film prize at last September's Venice International Film Festival, Father Mother Sister Brother is the eagerly awaited new film from the iconic filmmaker. By turns funny, tender and astutely observed, this is an intimate exploration of the universal intricacies of family dynamics.

The starry cast includes Tom Waits, Adam Driver, Mayim Bialik, Charlotte Rampling, Cate Blanchett, Vicky Krieps, Indya Moore and Luka Sabbat.

Told in the form of a triptych, the film is divided into three chapters, each concerning the relationship between adult children, their somewhat distant parent (or parents), and each other.

Observers say Jarmusch’s latest elegantly blends remarkable performances from its ensemble cast with his typically wry and idiosyncratic observations of everyday life, serving as a timely reminder that you can choose your friends and your lovers, but you can’t choose your family.

Showtime is 6:45 pm. Let's meet at Coalfire just down the street at 5:30 for dinner before the show. Please try to purchase your tickets at the box office before dinner, as this screening is in the small theater.

Hope to see you there.
