Robert Pattinson has just entered the Best Actor race, and he is not messing around.
Primetime is one of four big movies this year featuring Mr. Pattinson, and this one just wowed the audiences at the Venice International Film Festival.
The new film is a psychological crime thriller that loosely follows the production of the reality television series To Catch a Predator. Pattinson plays a fictionalized version of series host Chris Hansen.
The movie is directed by Lance Oppenheim in his narrative feature film debut and scripted by Ajon Singh based on the 2007 Esquire article "Tonight on Dateline This Man Will Die."
The movie features Merritt Weaver, Skyler Gisondo and Phoebe Bridgers.
Nicholas Barber of the BBC gave the film 5 out of 5 stars, calling Pattinson's performance "extraordinary" and "the best performance yet from the most intriguing actor of his generation."
