Thames path: Richmond to Kingston, 6 miles


Details
- We will meet outside the Richmond tube station (meeting point pictured) and make our way to Kingston via the scenic Thames path.
- Trivium: Richmond is the only London Borough situated on both sides of the Thames.
- We will walk towards Petersham to see the Petersham Nurseries, a verdant oasis of flora. Stocking both familiar and unusual specimens of plants and flowers, alongside artisanal gardening tools and other useful equipment.
- Then we will proceed to see the Ham House, which is one of the great Stuart houses Originally built in 1610.
- We will then continue our walk to see the Teddington lock, which is a complex of three locks and a weir between Ham and Teddington, first built in 1810.
- From here we will make our way towards Kingston Guildhall to see the coronation stone.
- Before Westminster Abbey, Kingston was a coronation site of Anglo-Saxon kings. Coronations were conducted in the chapel of St Mary, which collapsed in 1730. A large stone recovered from the ruins played a part in the coronations.
- We will finish our walk at Kingston station. Optional drinks/lunch at the local pub after the walk.

The walk is free for members who have subscribed for an annual membership. For other members the fee is £5 cash/card on arrival to contribute towards the organiser's meetup fees and costs.
The annual pass option is £15 payable by cash/card on the day. This will provide access to at least 30 walks per year (members are welcome to bring a guest to each event).
All walks are free for the NHS staff (also welcome to bring a guest).
'No Show' Policy: If the member replied 'yes' but did not attend the event, did not update the RSVP and did not inform the organisers on 3 occasions – this triggers an automatic removal from the group. That's once for events with a waiting list.
