Sunday Walk: Hill Farm Barn Cafe to Great Coldharbour Farm

Details

This fun location is a walk of 6 miles from Northchurch Common Car Park (opposite Hill Farm Barn Cafe). We'll walk to Great Coldharbour Farm and Ashridge House and back across the impressive, wide open vistas of Northchurch Common. Walking time is about 2.5 hours.

The price for the walk is £2 to cover costs.

After the walk you can stay for coffee and cake (see gallery) at the lovely Hill Farm Barn Cafe, where there are also a variety of farmyard animals in a pen within the garden eating area.

Meeting Point and Free Parking
We'll meet in the Northchurch Common Car Park, which is on the B4506, opposite the entrance to Hill Farm Barn Cafe.

Parking is free in the Northchurch Common Car Park. There is also another (free) parking lay-by a couple of hundred yards up the road. Please give yourself plenty of time to get parked.

Travelling from London / by Train
There is now a new, on-demand bus service called HertsLynx which runs from all three nearby train stations; Berkhamsted, Tring and Hemel Hempstead. Depending on availability, you can book in advance to get from these stations to many of the walk start points for £2 each way.

The HertsLynx app is free and the service stops at Northchurch - New Rd, Woodside Cottage a ten minute walk away from the start point at Hill Farm Barn Cafe (The name of the stop you require is 'Northchurch - New Rd, Woodside Cottage'). The nearest station is Berkhamsted.
